Lavender Sleepytime Tips

It’s National Sleep Awareness Week®,  an annual public education and awareness campaign to promote the importance of sleep .  Sleep is not overrated as some people claim, it is very important to our health and well being.

For better sleep you should not eat or drink large amounts before bedtime, avoid caffeine and exercise regularly.

There are many ways to use lavender as a natural sleep aid. You can use the fresh or dried plant, or essential oil.

Try some of these  tips to increase the quality of your sleep .

•    Use a Lavender Comfort Pillow to warm your bed and body  or a Lavender Eye Mask to rest your eyes with aromatherapy.

•    Sprinkle up to 3 drops of lavender essential oil on a piece of tissue or cotton ball and place it inside your pillow case or use  a dream pillow.

•    Place a few drops of lavender essential oil in an electric diffuser in your bedroom.

•    Add a few drops of lavender essential oil to your bath water and soak for a few minutes before sleeping.

•    Rub your feet with a few drops of  *lavender essential oil and cover with cotton socks before sleeping.

•    Make a lavender wand from sprigs of lavender from your garden and place it under/or near your pillow.

*I recommend only certified pure therapeutic essential oils when using topically

Be your own valentine

Published by Robin under Robin's Ramblings

valentine

On Valentines Day we express our affection and show our appreciation for the special people in our lives with cards, gifts and romantic notions, but  sometimes we set ourselves up for emotional disappointment when we don’t receive the above in return.

Why not give yourself a valentine greeting this year?  After all,  self-love is the “heart” of loving others.

Here are a variety of positive affirmations you can use in your greeting to yourself.  Choose the ones that are suited to you :

  • I am beautiful and vibrant
  • I love and accept my body
  • My heart is open to love
  • I give out Love and it is returned to me multiplied
  • I rejoice in the Love I encounter everyday
  • I open my heart and allow wonderful things to flow into my life.
  • I release any desperation and allow love to find me
  • I have a wonderful partner and we are both happy and at peace
  • I attract only healthy relationships
  • I know that I deserve Love and accept it now
  • All my relationships are loving and harmonious

Happy Valentines Day!

Empty Nest Now

emptynest

Thanks to my good friend VickiG for her witty response after I reported to her that I turned in my key to the former Birdsnest Boutique building yesterday.  She called it the “empty nest” when I said the BirdsNest was gone.

Anyway, I just sent this notice out to the BirdsNest mailing list:

The BirdsNest Boutique closed in December 2009.
We are all cleared out of the Newport building and we have said farewell
to what was an awesome opportunity and experience.

Maybe someday soon, we’ll be back in a new location, but for now we invite you to follow all of our businesses by sharing links to our websites so you can always find us.

Here is a list where you can find some of the great items we carried in the shop.

Thanks so much for all of your support!
