Good bye Town & Country
Welcome back!
When I returned from my annual camping trip with my kids on Monday, I barely had time to vacuum the sand and crumbs out of the van before we had to drop it off at the Dodge dealer. Our lease was up and for the first time in 18 years of being a returning Chrysler customer, I had to leave without a new vehicle.
You see, my husband lost his job in April and unfortunately this was the very first year we decided to not do a lease pull ahead when we had the chance and now we cannot afford the payment nor do we have his income to get approved for a new purchase.
Anyway, I am feeling good about the fact that we will save $500 per month by not having the payment and insurance for that vehicle. Adjusting to having one vehicle should be semi-easy since he isn’t working. We’ll deal with the sharing his car conflicts when he gets back to work. Also, I am enjoying being chauffeured around:)
What I am not happy about is that since we did not give Chrysler our business this time, we got charged for some scratches on the bumper and a disposition fee that we would have not been charged for otherwise.
Grrrr instead of leaving with a vehicle, we got a $720 bill!
I should have siphoned that half tank of gas out before we left.
