Lemons to Lemonade

Welcome back!

but, I sure could use your help.

You may have heard me mention that I am starting college classes next week.  I qualified for a grant (the only good thing that came from my husband losing his job this year).
So my tuition is covered:)
I am pretty excited.

As you may also know I co-own The BirdsNest Boutique, where I work daily to greet awesome shoppers.  My great plan was to be able to take the internet  courses so I could do my school work while I am at the shop.  I almost didn’t get in the internet classes because they were all full, but persistant as I was I found my way into many waiting lists and worked my way up the list and got all the classes I wanted.  Hooray for me!

Guess what?  The pc at The BirdsNest is a hand- me- down that we are so thankful to have been given from Marianna’s father-in-law, but  hand-me-down = slow, old, no windows xp, etc…..  need I go on?
I also caught a glimpse of how much my textbooks are gonna cost (yikes).

I had all intentions on getting a laptop in time, but now time has flew by so fast and I haven’t reached my sales goal of Lavender pillows this month to purchase that purple Dell I have my eyes on.  I am getting there I just need a little boost.

This is where you come in…..

Again, I am not asking for you to buy pillows from me, I know many people are in the same financial situation as we are.  I am not down or depressed about, actually I have a great outlook.  I just hope I can get these classes going and continue to work my business.

well this post is anyway.

I tend to get backed up in personal posts.  If you only knew how many drafts are sitting in my wordpress dashboard right now.  Some have been there a looooong time.  Maybe I’ll start spitting them all out soon.

So, here it is

1.  I am going back to school!
You are sure to hear more details as this is going to be a major thing for me to do, but  I’ll  give you a quick rundown on how this happened.  I applied for financial aid and qualified for a Pell Grant since my husband is still unemployed.  I am super excited to work towards a degree in business, but at the same time I am quite nervous about returning to school 25 yrs after high school.

2.  All aspects of my business are picking up.

• The BirdsNest Boutique is fun and definitely a learning experience everyday.
• Pillows of  Lavender grows more everyday and I’ll never stop loving that lavender.  New items, new fabrics, new logo etc..  Actually, I have challenged myself to sell enough pillows this month to buy myself a laptop for school so I am offering free lavender goodies this month.  If you can spare a moment to help me spread the word I would greatly appreciate it.
• I am blogging more, focusing, balancing and really feeling good about it all.

3.  Been enjoying the summer hanging out at home , only one camping trip this year.  Doing some minor re-modeling/ re-decorating/re-arranging of rooms in our house.   By minor I mean doing what we can with little money.  I want french doors for my bedroom into the sunroom, but I’ll have to wait on that for now.

Well, I guess  that’s all I got today.  It sure seemed like more when I kept putting off posting….
