Welcome back!
I have to re-do week #2 because I only completed one of three workouts. I just wasn’t in the mood Monday or Tuesday so I planned it out that I would run Wednesday, Friday and Saturday.
I did workout #1 on Wednesday and had no problem increasing the running time. I did feel a little nauseous after but exercise has always done that to me.
Friday rolls around and I was ready to go but I had a slight headache and there was no way I was going to run and have it get worse, but it got worse anyway and included some episodes of dizziness that continued through Saturday. Sunday was filled was church, family and yard work day. I was wore out.
There you have it, I messed up in my second week.
I am not going to let it bother me though I am going to hightail it to the treadmill right now!

Follow up on my first week of the Couch-to-5K Running Plan after 3 workouts. You can see how challenging this can be with schedule conflicts and weather issues, but I am determined so I stayed strong and adapted this week.
My plans are to do my 3 workouts per week on Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings.
Fyi- I am not a fan of running on the road so I use a track near my home which usually has 0-3 senior citizens walking while I am there. That’s good though it makes me look like a fitness buff when I pass them around the track and also in case I collapse I know someone will eventually find me.
Monday, Workout #1
Not bad, my biggest worry was that my lungs would explode. My final lap was annoying because my shoe came untied a couple of times and my keys fell out of my pocket disrupting my momentum. I felt extremely energized the rest of the day and hungrier than usual. The only soreness that I had the following day was in my calf muscles.
Wednesday, Workout#2
My throat got really dry and I had to stop at my car to get a drink. I must have been shakey because I dropped my water bottle (with no lid on it) on my car seat and just let it go to keep my pace. I honestly did not think I would finish this workout and prayed to God to keep me going. The final lap was hard for me, but I did finish. Then I had to sit in a big puddle of water and go home with a sopping wet butt, but hey- it cooled me off quicker.
Saturday, Workout #3
was supposed to be done on Friday but due to the fact that the weather was bad and I was going on a field trip with my son, I postponed to Saturday. I woke up yesterday and it was so easy to say “it’s too cold and windy to run” but then I remembered my grandma had a treadmill! I have never ran on a treadmill before, actually I had only walked on a one once. It was a great workout, I was real sweaty and thought I would faint when I was done. The difference from the two workouts at the track was my lungs did not hurt but my legs felt like noodles when I was done.
So I did it!
Did you? Come on join along.
I am challenging you with a chance to win a Lavender Wrap.

Yesterday, I started the Couch-to-5K Running Plan, a schedule to get beginners running three miles in just two months.
WHY am I doing this?
I want to get fit and stay active. I have recently noticed my body doesn’t participate well in any physical activity lately due to my sedentary lifestyle.
Does this mean I am going to become a distance runner? Not necessarily, but maybe. I am challenging myself to do this because I have to prove to myself that I can. If I enjoy it enough I will pursue a marathon…maybe. Otherwise I will just use it as my excuse to get out of the house to listen to my music and be one with nature.
I plan on blogging about my experience at the end of each week, reporting on the workouts. I would love to have some company in this challenge. Would you like to join me and post your progress on my blog comments? If so I will enter your name in a drawing for a Lavender Comfort Pillow at the end of the two months.
So come on, let’s do it!
