Tell me Thursday- About Green Smoothies

Welcome back!

Tell Me Thursday

My Wordless Wednesday image is just a green smoothie people, nothing gross or disgusting as it may appear to some. Although it did scare my 13 yr old away from the kitchen but he is one that won’t admit to liking anything that is healthy for him.

Anyway, that particular smoothie tasted only of bananas and blueberries the spinach was the “silent” ingredient adding no spinach flavor to the concoction just a nice load of Vitamin A and Vitamin C, fiber, protein and a whole lot of GREEN color. Notice the pieces of blueberry that didn’t get “smooth”, well I am not privileged enough to own the all mighty Vita-Mix ……yet. Maybe when I advance from green smoothie novice to pro, I’ll reward myself.

What is a green smoothie you ask?

A Green Smoothie is fresh fruit blended with leafy greens. I learned this and much more by signing up for the Green Smoothie 3 Day Challenge which by the way I found through Twitter friends of mine and it’s been fun hearing about their trials.  I have been trying different recipes and practicing before I start my challenge.
No, I do not plan on replacing all of my meals for 3 days, I would fail for sure. I do plan on replacing my lunch for 3 days and then after that my goal is to include one green smoothie per day into my diet. I love veggies but I am not a big fruit eater so this will be a major accomplishment for me.

Why should you drink green smoothies?

This is not just for the raw foodist, vegans, vegetarians. This for the human being who wants to improve their health, lose weight, fight disease or just feel great. This is for men, women and children.

Imagine all the green smoothie moustaches

Come on, go get your green and get healthy!

Tell me Thursday- Do you know Thankful?

tmt125x125.jpg

The story behind my Wordless Wednesday  post  yesterday  is about this picture that hung on my grandparent’s kitchen wall all while I was a child.  My grandmother offered the picture to me when I moved into my new house last year and I have it hung in my dining room.  People are always asking me who the man is and what does it represent, but all I was told was that it was a homeless man that is thankful for his meal.

Recently, a friend that had complimented the picture and asked about it had to call me to let me know that once she seen it at my house she has now spotted it a few other places including the dining area of a crab boat on the show “The Deadliest Catch”.

Do you know more about this picture?  If you do please comment and let us know.  If not I’ll just keep calling it “Thankful” and stick to my story:)

Tell me Thursday-Loving my tree

The story behind my Wordless Wednesday

I have been thoroughly enjoying my front landscaping blooms this Spring. The Azaleas were perfect but the Dogwood has had my heart this year, the beautiful pink flowers have been my focal point for the past couple of weeks. This was taken from inside my living room.
